On May 26, 2004, MainStreet Bank began operations in Herndon.  As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we reflect on the past and realize how fortunate we are to be where we are today. 

During a tumultuous period in the financial history of the United States, MainStreet Bank has been able to turn the idea of offering innovative solutions to our customers into reality.

Meet MainStreet: Mark DesRocher

Mark DesRochers' roots run deep in Herndon.  Not only did Mark grow up in Herndon and begin his professional career here, but he is currently MainStreet Bank’s VP/Relationship Manager in Herndon. 

Mark takes a professional and creative approach to working with current MainStreet Bank customers and takes pride in introducing MainStreet Bank to prospective customers.

Q. Why are credit card companies taking advantage of consumers?

A. In most cases, credit card companies are raising their rates to offset rising losses.  Some credit card companies may have been too liberal in extending consumer credit, others may have concentrated their marketing efforts in areas that have been hard hit by the economy.  And yes, some companies are raising their rates simply because they can.

For the record, we've never changed our credit card rate.
