We've got more exciting news at MainStreet.  While most banks are struggling and trying to weather the storm of the troubled economy, we are expanding and opening a new branch in Clarendon. 

It's easy to see that Clarendon is an incredible location for business, metro commuters, walking traffic and residents.  The branch sits on the corner of North Highland and 10th Street which is just 2 blocks away from the Clarendon metro stop and next to the Clarendon Post Office. 

The branch is a great addition to our already geographically distributed locations.  We look forward to providing the Clarendon market with our "best in class" service.

With new branches come new advancements in the way we can bank.  Our newest advancement in technology is our Smart ATM that is located at the Clarendon branch. 

Situated in a secure room, this ATM scans deposits as they are entered.  It will also print out a receipt with the scanned images so our customers have a record of their deposit.  It allows for a secure 24/7 approach to making deposits. 

Whether you are a consumer on the go or business owner stopping off after work hours, there is no longer a bad time to deposit your money in our bank.

Q. Media and news reports continue to say that banks aren't lending or that banks are making their terms more restrictive.  Is this true?

A. This is NOT true at MainStreet.  The large banks have restricted credit, but community banks continue to lend.  We originated over $70 million in new loans into the DC Metropolitan area last year.
